Wayne P. Albo FCA FCBV ASA

Wayne Albo is Executive Partner of Calcap and has been involved in the fields of M&A advisory and business valuation since co-founding the Campbell Valuation Group more than 25 years ago. Recognizing the growing demand for specialized transaction advice among privately held businesses, he founded Calcap in 1987.

Over the last ten years, Wayne has consulted on more than 200 separate transactions across the full spectrum of North American industries. Acting either for the buyer or the seller, Wayne’s role has ranged from providing his expertise in valuation and transaction pricing to assuming the role of primary negotiator on behalf of Calcap’s clients. As a well-known Canadian authority on mergers and acquisitions, he is the lead author of The Purchase & Sale of Privately Held Businesses. The third edition of this book, highly regarded for its focus on Canadian transactions issues, was published in September of 2000.

Wayne is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (BA) and is a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, and a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers. In 1974 he received the Governor General’s Gold Medal from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants for first place standing in Canada in the Uniform Final Examination.

Christine Legein HBA

Christine Legein is currently a Partner in Calcap and has significant experience in both the operating and corporate development environments. She has coordinated and managed over 25 transactions in such diverse fields as information technology, broadcasting, entertainment, food and beverage, alcoholic beverages and building products for values ranging from $5 million to over $250 million. In addition to M&A assignments, Christine has completed a number of strategic consulting assignments in the food and beverage, sports, entertainment and service industries.

Christine’s experience over the past twenty years includes senior management roles including: Vice President Corporate Sales and Services, SkyDome Corporation; Vice President Business Development, Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club; Director of Corporate Development, John Labatt Limited; Director of Strategic Planning, John Labatt Limited; General Sales Manager, Royal Oak Dairy; and Group Product Manager, Ault Dairies Limited.

Christine’s considerable corporate development experience combined with her strong operating background provides clients with a thorough understanding of the impact that transactions have on an entire organization. As a result, she provides a personal, “hands-on” approach with clients in order to guide them through some of the most difficult decisions and issues that business owners may have to face.

Christine is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario (HBA) where she was awarded the Gold Medal for attaining first place standing in her graduation class. She was also a four-year recipient of the UWO Board of Governor’s Continuing Scholarship as well as a Rhodes Scholar Nominee.

Sean Abe HBA CBV

Sean Abe is currently a Senior Associate and joined Calcap immediately after graduation from the University of Western Ontario in 1998. During his time at Calcap he has played an integral role in merger and acquisition transactions, fairness opinions, due diligence analysis and business valuations. Sean has gained experience with a wide range of industries including manufacturing, consumer goods, retailing, engineering, food processing, building materials, property management, software and information technology for transaction values ranging from $2 Million to over $400 million.

Sean also contributed significantly to the published book: Purchase and Sale of Privately-Held Businesses - Third Edition – Wayne Albo, Adam Bryk and Andrew Pigott. He has co-authored the article Mergers and Acquisitions in the IT Mid-Market which was published in netprofit channel advisor magazine.

Sean is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario (HBA) where his focus of study was in Finance and Accounting. Sean is also a graduate of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators Programme and has attained his CBV designation.
